facts and tips to help you find contentment...WHILE chasing your goals

Hey Reader,

There's 1 word that's been on my heart lately, especially today, that I wanted to share with you.

That word?

Contentment.

Something easier said than done.

The reason why this has been heavy on my mind, is because at times I find myself in a cycle of unhealthy striving.

You know...striving for the things you don't currently have or to become who you're currently not in order to live out the ultimate potential and purpose you believe you obtain.

The shorter version?

Dissatisfaction takes up your headspace on a daily basis.

Maybe you find yourself in the same boat, too.

Maybe you're not satisfied with your current job.

Maybe you're not satisfied with the current state of your business or side hustle.

Maybe you're not satisfied with being single, married, or the people you have around you.

Dissatisfaction can come in many different forms, and in many different stages.

The good news, is that we can choose differently.

Here's a few quick facts and tips to choosing contentment over dissatisfaction no matter where you're at with your life RIGHT now.

Being content does NOT mean that you're settling.

It means that no matter what the situation, you recognize that you have the ability to control how you think, act, and respond and - therefore - can see peace more clearly. It's okay to chase after the goals you have or to make changes in your life to better your happiness, but DON'T allow that to build up a sense of frustration or annoyance with where you're currently at or who you currently are.

Being content helps you find the beauty in the NOW

Whether your life is going great or your life isn't where you want it to be, contentment allows you to see the relevance in your current state. God is working behind-the-scenes to build your character, level up your emotional growth, and uncover abilities you didn't even know you had in you. Sometimes, it takes going through a whole lot of crap to find just that. So be patient, have faith, and understand there's a deeper reason behind the current position God placed you in...ALL that will end up being for your GOOD.

So you see, Reader...it's okay to be content. In fact, you should try to be content on a daily basis.

Find peace in the now as you work towards your future goals, and let God take care of the rest.

A really great YouTube video that I watched that spoke a bit on this, was from one of my favorite pastors here in Atlanta - Heather Lindsey. Check it out if you'd like more advice on a similar topic!
